I have been asked by many if my husband has a CIB or Purple Heart to aid in his disability claim. Well he was in the 173rd Airborne 3/319th and the battle of Dak To Hill 875. Since he was field Artillary he was not eligible for the CIB. I have been reading about some legislation about a Combat Action Badge. The are looking at it for Engineers and Artillary who were in Combat just not in the infantry. Make it Retro to 1941. Is anyone aware of where this stands. The bill is HR 2267. When I look at it it seems it been referred from the house to the Dept of Defense? Does anyone know anything about this? Seems since my husband never spoke about his time in the service and now that PTSD and everything else is coming out I am learning more stuff. It seems to me anyone that was in combat should get some kind of medal or badge. Or am I just barking up the wrong tree?
