Greetings everyone. First off, I must say that I am definitely impressed with the wealth of knowledge available on this site. It is truly impressive to see
Vets taking the time to help each other out. I am an 11 year active duty Army NCO with recurrent brain cancer. I have very little knowledge of how the PEB/MEB
process works other than word of mouth and what I've interpreted from the available literature on my own. Here are my questions: 1) It seems that the
primary association with PEB/MEB's is a percentage number. Is this number that is "awarded" (let's say %100 for argument's sake) a
percentage of my base pay only? I have also seen a chart numerous times that has different percentages along with categories based on the SM's status (i.e.
single, married, w or w/o kids and/or parents). This pay seems significantly lower than %100 of my base pay. Is this something totally different or how the
awarded percentage is actually calculated and paid to the SM? 2) If I was placed on the TDRL and not directly on the PRL, would I retain my current pay and
benefits along with BAH and BAS until placed on the PRL? 3) Is it better to remain on the TDRL or go directly on the PRL (if one had the choice)? 4) If placed
on either list, would my family members still retain benefits (i.e. DEERs eligibility, etc.)? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Matty43,
Best of luck with the MEB/PEB, and let us know any questions. |
