Thanks to Hutsky, here is a calculator which agrees with 38 CRF and eliminates the small rounding error in the one we have posted in facts now. This one agrees with 38 CRF table in all combinations, as far as I can tell.Link to new calculator in Excel: LINK

"Duke of Cool"
QuattroPro 11 (QP11) Imports the Excel spreadsheet fine. Don’t know about other versions of QP
First off. I notice there are 3 "Sheets" with the Excel VA Calculator spreadsheet. There is nothing on 2 and 3.
When you import the file in QuattroPro 11 (QP11), after saving it to QuattroPro format, you will get a warning it will not be able to import the other sheets; other than the primary one with all the info on it. Just Keep going since there is nothing on those 2 sheets anyway..
I used Excel 97, assume it will works with later versions
Using Excel 97 find the file and open it, with the file on screen
Click on "File" on menu in upper left corner
Click on "Save As"
Click on "Save as type"
Select "WQ1 (QuattroPro/DOS)" you will have to scroll down to find it.
Give your file a name (I just called it VA Calculator)
Click on "Save"
Close Excel
Open your version of QuattroPro (QP)
Import/open your saved file by the name you gave it.
It won’t have the colors Hutsky selected in his version but you can do that later in QP if you want. Let me know. Won’t go into that here.
Widen the columns to fit the text or #’s. By selecting the cell or column and clicking the little arrows <–> block in the "Note Book" menu bar at the top of the screen.
1. Click on "Format", menu is at top of screen
2. Select "Sheet Properties"
3. Select "Protection"
4. Select "Enable Cell Locking", puts a check mark in the block
5. Click on "OK" box. Takes you back to the spreadsheet.
The above 5 options "protects" the cells in QP that Hutsky has protected in his version, means you can’t enter any information in the protected cell or change the formulas. QP does not import the Excel "cell protection"
The unprotected cells selected by Hutsky are still "unprotected". Means you can enter information in the required cell to get your computations in them.
If you try to put info in a cell and it is "Protected"
Leave the cursor on that "protected" cell or group of cells
Press "F12" on the keyboard
Select "Constraints"
Under "Cell Protection"
Select "Unprotect", puts a check mark in that block.
Everything seemed to work fine for me in QP.
Again, many many thanks to Hutsky for his kindness, thoughtfulness, consideration and sharing this calculator with us.
Hutsky; You are a true gentleman and scholar. Your gentle manners and scholastic abilities are only preceded by your fine upstanding appearance(s) and sharing with us.
Along with Epistolero, I to, am one of the "Chosen" Few. Was on perimeter duty around Hungnam while the Marines evacuated in Dec 24-26, 1950. Was with Charlie Co, 1st Bn, 15th Inf Regt, 3rd Inf Div.
President Eisenhower’s son, a Major, was our Bn S-3 Ops officer
Capt. Harry S. Everett, Commanding, C Co. He always said you damn well better pronounce it with two "tt’s’ to. He was later killed by a tank mine about 15 miles east of Seoul in Mar 1951. I was with him on a reconnaissance patrol, we had just crossed the Han River. Platoon Sgt "Snuffy" Turlington is still alive in Kansas, but in very bad shape, no longer able to communicate or recognize me. There are not many of us left.
And thanks to Milt for posting for us.
Lot of Luck to All
