I was dx with " rhematoid spondylitis status post laminectomy with pronounced IVDS" in 1997 and was awarded 60% under old criteria. Today I had a C&P exam for worsening of symptoms. He used the DBQ for rheumatoid arthritis and asked me about the neck. I know the examiner checked 10 degrees of flexion and 25 degrees rotation with IVDS. Am I subject to the new rules for evaluation now or will the old diagnosis code still be applied since the condition is > 10 years old. Also is there a rating table for IVDS itself.
Do they add the ROM components (or rating) with the IVDS components (or ratings)? The examiner did not do a neurology exam or DBQ, he did note several neurological deficits to include bilateral clonus, musle weakness with atrophy, and intermittent numbness and burning. He asked me about incapacitating episodes, but did not question the duration of each.
