Re: 1099's and IU (reply)
Anytime we have a discussion concerning working while IU, we get many opinions.  I would pay attention to the opinions of the raters, VSOs and long-term members.  Just remember, working when a vet is IU is playing with fire. JMHO

Re: Recent Claim (reply)
No such thing as a "dumb question".  We need to see all your percentages in order to determine if the add'l 10% will equate to more money.  It may or may not but we cannot provide the answer without the information.  80% can be...

Re: two questions on behave of my brother0% (reply)
If he has not had headaches for two years, then his rating would likely be reduced.  If his ROM in his back has improved beyond that required for a 40% rating, then that would also likely be reduced.

Re: Thoracolumbar Spine DBQ question (reply)
Forward flexion of "0-30%" would meet the 40% criteria if all other submitted data agreed with that finding.  Good luck going forward.

If the claim is being processed, then I would not get in the middle of it.  Your letter will likely not change anything.  You can only be awarded one mental rating which will be based upon all the presented mental findings.  You...

Re: Question about 100% P&T Death Benefits for Spouse? (reply)
It is not "Income dependent" and it is tax free.  I filled out the paperwork/documentation on DIC for my wife and left it in a folder, along with my VSO's information and this board's information.  Further, just an FYI for everyone...

You are correct that all of your disabilities would be reviewable if you request IU or an increase.  If you feel you meet the requirements for IU, then put in for it.  Good luck going forward.

If a doctor will support the theory, then possibly you could prevail.  Wait and see where the chips fall.  Good luck with your claim!

Re: why a VA diagnosis and still need a C & P exam? (reply)
The hearing test is conducted in a sound proof room and no one but the person being examined is allowed inside.  Further, the person being examined wears head phones.
