Re: Will a claim for TBI affect my current PTSD rating? (reply)
As stated above, the only thing to be aware of is that a symptom can only be used to support a single disability.  I would file and wait for the results.

Re: Abdominal Scars (reply)
The QTC was probably directed to view the scars to your abdomen.  The neck scar was probably not on their "to do" list.  If the neck scar is ratable, file for it individually.  To get to the next level, all the scars would have to be...

Re: Question about "markers" for PTSD/MST (reply)
I would keep after the claim as I think you will prevail.  You have at least two of the markers and a DX.  Did you confide in a friend or family member about the MST around the time it happened. If so, ask them to write a letter. Good...

Re: New ptsd claim (reply)
If the stressor is valid to you, then it is a valid stressor.  All that matters is that something, which can be verified (if need be), has caused you mental trauma which has now caused a disability.  Everyone's stressor is different and...

Re: Mismanaged diagnosis (reply)
What is the question?  If you have filed for a disability with the VA, it will be based upon ROM.  The SMRs should indicate the back issues.  Further, the MRI may have to be requested from the hospital as it will not be with you SMRs....

Re: I don't think I have sleep apnea...what do I file for? (reply)
Probably what you need is a heavy duty med to help you sleep through the night.  If the pain is so bad that the normal pain meds do not keep you asleep then request stronger meds for nighttime.  Further, a topical pain reliever may help....

How can a VA psych verify a stressor?  A stressor would have to be verified through records or witness affidavits.  Just because a therapist provides an opinion that a stressor exists, it does not make it so.  That may be one of the...
