Re: Ch. 35 and child support (reply)
I think your best bet would be to ask the court for a modification to have your support sent directly to the child due to the child not being in the home. For the record.....from the female perspective....the courts are not all so "woman...

Transport for wheelchair folks (topic)
Not sure if this is the proper forum or not.My care providers are pretty equally divided between American Lake and Seattle. I am in a power wheelchair.....that weighs about 250 pounds. Not too long ago "they" switched the contract for...

Re: slow travel pay another way to discourage veterans from keeping appointments (reply)
I don't think it is to discourage appointments etc but.....I put in for an Oly to Seattle trip, and an Oly to Am Lake trip almost a month ago and still have not been paid for them as of today.

Re: Private doc or va doc? (reply)
I hate to say it but it is possible the same thing would happen with a civilian doc.I had a sleep apnea test done about 12 years ago by a private doc, nothing to do with the VA. When I got the report the history and issues listed were so...

Re: Clothing Allowance (reply)
If you are getting an allowance for the wheelchair it is very doubtful you would also get one for the crutches. There is specific language about that in fact....that you can not get an allowance for both a wheelchair and the devices it...

Re: Clothing Allowance (reply)
As far as I know fore arm crutches should meet the criteria as long as they are prescribed as being necessary for a service connected condition.

Re: Comprehensive List of Items received From The Independent Living Program (reply)
I don't know much about other phases of Voc Rehab......but ILP for me has been (and remains) a major source of stress.I am also 100% SC....scheduler.I was put in the ILP track a bit over 3 years ago. Had my home assessment and a number...

Re: Comprehensive List of Items received From The Independent Living Program (reply)
You wait to be contacted. You will have an appt with a Voc Rehab person and  put in ILP if that is determined to be appropriate. Then  you will be scheduled for a home visit to assess your actual NEEDS.After that a plan is supposed to be...

Re: withdrawal claim question (reply)
If the goal in filing a FDC is the hope of getting the one year of retro pay based on it being a FDC I don't think that applies if it is other than the initial claim. Since this SM has already been rated for something the FDC retro would...

Re: Veterans be careful if you eat at this place (reply)
I have not eaten at the VA snack bar but when I have my iron infusions (they take 2 o3 3 hours) they always bring a lunch from the same kitchen that does the inpatient meals. Some I could do without but some were pretty tasty too.

Re: Comprehensive List of Items received From The Independent Living Program (reply)
I don't think ILP will pay to modify a vehicle for any reason. Through "normal" VA channels you can get vehicle modifications done to accommodate SOME disabilities....loss of use of legs or feet for example. That can be done along with a...

Re: Comprehensive List of Items received From The Independent Living Program (reply)
The application process is through Voc Rehab. They administer ILP........you must go through them. You apply for Voc Rehab and they determine if ILP is appropriate, and if so set up a plan.Good luck. I have been working on it for 3 years...
