Help needed..., anyone with 13B MOS's can relate to my request. I am a 55 year old veteran, my MOS is 13B Field Artillery and I filed a claim with my
local VA for Hearing Impairment last August 07. I was sent to a board certified Audiogist for a hearing test. I was told by the audiogist that I had severe
hearing damange, the VA sent me their decision on my claim in Junuary 08 and agreed. I was given 20 percent for bilateral hearing loss in both ears and 10
percent for tinitus in both ears. The paper work stated that it was more likely than not..., that the damage was due to my military MOS as a Field Artillery
crewman during my milirary enlistment.
Because I have had at times severe pain in and around my left ear for over 5 years and get dizzy on occasion..., I was wandering if I should appeal the
VA's decision. Not during or anytime before or anythime after my hearing test, did I never talked with a Doctor concerning my hearing loss.
I'm really new at this..., but I been in the military long enough to know that I need to... CYA .
So, if anyone has any adivice on the do's and don'ts..., I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
13B
