Posts: 481 Oct 8 12 10:47 PM	I had a Thallium Stress test which resulted in a dx of IHD w/LVEF of 50%. Then I had bypass surgery (CABGx2) about 2 yrs ago. Last month my VA Cardiologist sent me for a ECG, resulting in a LVEF of 65% I take meds for blood pressure control, colesterol control, pre-diabetis, ED and depression. I plan to file a claim for direct connection exposure to herbicides while at Korat AFB, Thailand 1972-73. I work in close proximity to the base perimeter and have documentation stating so. Should I have my VA cardiologist file out a DBQ form supporting my claim, I think I read that advice somewhere - LouF??? From what I have read on this forum, it sounds as though I should file a claim for all these issues, considering some could be secondary to IHD and/meds... any advice appreciated. Also what is weighted more, the Thallium Stress test LVEF or the ECG... I heard the ECG may not be very accurate. Thanks for being there! Edited 1 time by yukutll Oct 9 12 10:51 AM.

Posts: 873 Oct 9 12 2:13 PM	The time frame you cite (1972-1973) was long after "tactical herbicides" such AO were sprayed in SEA. I recommend you continue your claim using the term "herbicide exposure" and not refer to AO or any of the other tactical herbicides.

Posts: 4054 Oct 11 12 5:44 AM	The presumptive period is until May 1975, regardless of when spraying operations ended. For Thailand, you will most likely have to show that you were involved in perimeter security. The VA cardiologist may or may not complete the DBQ. There is no requirement to do so. Cav1Sgt

Posts: 66 Oct 11 12 2:25 PM	File. I was at Korat from 72 to 74 and awarded 60% IHD for Herbicide exposure. Use thes 2 web sites for info.Feel free to contact me. Good Luck Click on CHECO REPORT and download document. This is a declassified document that states they sprayed the perimeter and by the KC135 parking ramp starting in June 1972, the exact time you were there. I remember it where the c130, B66 and C121's were parked. It's been a long time ago but do you recall where the Jet Engine Test cell was located on the map? I'm glad I found this site.... I was always led to believe one had to have 'boots on the ground'.

Posts: 66 Oct 12 12 2:05 PM	I am not sure about the Jet Engine test cell. I know the trim pad was located at the opposite end of the runway from the C130 parking ramp. I spent alot of time there also.If that is what you were refering to.I used the trim pad in my claim also because it was near the perimeter also. Not as close as the C130 ramp which literally was at the perimeter. Not sure if this helps you.Sounds like you are a Jet Engine Mechanic. Were you at the trim pad when the B66 jumped chocks and it ran over the engine mechanic lost his leg in 1973?
