Thanks for the help. Losing the $245 per month in order to get $957 a month for her schooling is worth it. Also, I just spoke with a friend of mine. He said that he has seen some people get retroactive money back to the effective date of the 100% disability approval (as long as that person was attending the learning institution during the disability processing period). I am sure that if they decide that she is entitled to retroactive reimbursement, my daughter will let me have the money back. (or not)
    

Retro still won't hurt me. The retro check, based on the current $957 per month rate will give her around $7600 in retro pay. I received $4165 in dependent pay during that period. She will give me back the full amount of the retro pay and I still will have about $3400 left after paying back the dependent monies that I had previously received.

Yeah?  Well that ain't the point, is it?  The point is that the Congress deliberately eliminated the extension provision for health care under Tricare to age 26!  It was there before the NDAA was approved and simple left out!

Isn't that a kick in the head to all vets? This president and his party demanded and got in his health plan the rule that states that all dependents covered under the parents health policy must be covered untill their 26th birthday by that insurance carrier at NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE POLICY HOLDER!!. If you check out the law on line, you will note that this rule pertains to everyone, to include all government employee's EXCEPT FOR VETS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS. THE VETS DEPENDENT COVERAGE ENDS AT 21 UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE THAT THEY ARE A FULL-TIME STUDENT (NOT PART-TIME). THEN THEY CAN CONTINUE TO BE COVERED BY CHAMPUSVA UNTILL THEIR 23D BIRTHDAY, NOT 26TH BIRTHDAY LIKE ALL OTHER US CITIZENS. THIS ADMINISTRATION WANTS THE VETS TO PAY $250.00 EACH MONTH PER CHILD TILL THEY TURN 26.
  

Nahhhh. You have a president that has been pandering for active duty and veteran votes for 3 years not. You have a first lady out there that is always sticking her face on TV, whether be be through vistits to vet organizations or through commercials claiming how important it that ALL of us support the vets and their families. This president and the first lady had an opportunity to speak out in support of the vets while the health bill was beingh negotiated and the most recent appropriations bill was being signed, but rather they remained silent. I watched C-Span as the Director of the VA spoke to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and he did not utter one single word of support or one single word of displeasure to the committee members. All he kept on saying was how, under his leadership, he has turned the process around and it takes less then 1/2 the time now to process the claims as it did 3 years ago. The only item that has received priority processing are the IHD claims. All other claims are on track to be processed in the same amount of time (maybe even longer) then it took 3 years ago. I know, I just know that after I post this, I am going to receive negative feedback. But, that is ok. These people that post all the postings  about how wrong we are about the VA are only hiding behind their screen  names and are really employees of the VA. So, please don't insult me by saying that it is not this administrations fault, but rather the houses fault. This president and his administration has been too busy the last 3 years buying the votes from special interest for his re-election in 2012 to really effect the changes that he promised in 2008!!@
