Quote "The Veterans Service Representative has recommended a decision, and is preparing required documents detailing that decision." What type of documents would the Rep be working on? Thanks to all that reply.

Posts: 62 Jan 25 12 2:48 AM	I was told last Thursday that I should have an envelope in about two weeks by the VSR working on my claim in Sacramento (Oakland RO satellite office) but then I've been told "two weeks" so many times by VA that it is beginning to sound like Arnold in the movie about Mars (Total Recall) where he kept repeating it. My initial claim was started 809 days ago. Just went into Prep for decision the same day I was told "two weeks". I will be surprised if it is done by Feb 2nd! We just have to be patient and keep remembering that they will owe back pay for the wait. Good luck and thanks for your service. Posts: 39 Jan 25 12 7:16 AM	in prep for decision at winston salem since october 4th. done counting, called peggey and was told a year from the day it went into prep for decision. BDD is not working anymore too many claims for the VA to handle, I feel for those who work there.

Muskgoee office but i realize this isn't normal but a surprising turn of events, this went well so will probably take years to get the money going.....I wish you all good luck and hope the time line for you guys is not as long as you think.............

If they did, claims shouldn't languish in that stage. I was told this is when they are actually looking at your file. If you have a few contentions, it might be done quicker than one that has a lot. I was also told the raters have a quota and if a file has a lot of contentions, it is usually put to the side until the rater can complete others.

Posts: 534 Jan 25 12 9:27 PM	I was in prep for a decision for about 30 days (my claim is 18 months old) Now it has moved to pending decision approval. (about 5 days) Just waiting to hear something. Kind of going stir crazy wondering what the "awaiting decision approval" phase is all about. Cruiser gave a really good explanation of the steps on a post last night, but still confused as to why e-benefits has the "awaiting decision approval" if the RSVR can make the decision on their own. What is to approve? From what I understand the approving folks are a lower grade and more like the administrative procedure people. Dunno, a bit confusing...However, after 18 months I have significant movement and that is good (I think) 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii 100% Service Connected P&T SSDI (decision pending) FERS Disability Retirement/USPS
