I'm relatively new here. I have been following the site since i applied for VA compensation in June.
I left the Air Force in 2004 and the last two years or so i was always ill with a variety of ailments that by themselves probably didn't mean much but when put together eventually (that is now) it finally all made sense.
I was recently diagnosed with a rare pituitary tumor that is releasing very high amounts of growth hormone. The endocrinologist here at J. Hopkins said that on average the diagnosis for acromegaly is about 9 years.
Some people think up to 12 or so.
Basically because of it, i now have severe obstructive sleep apnea and need a CPAP to sleep, chronic fatigue, cubital tunnel syndrome on one hand and carpal tunnel on the other, chronic sinusitis, severe back pain, enlarged hands, feet, face, neck, tongue and other internal organs, a macroadenoma in my pituitary gland that secretes very high levels of growth hormone...and the list goes on and on.
I have now been on advanced sick leave for several weeks since haven't really been able to work anymore.
I wonder what my chances are here.
