I have been 40% SC for DMII [AO] and PN secondary to DMII. Last May, I filed for additional conditions secondary to DMII.
Yesterday, I stopped by to visit with my VSO, she looked in the VA's computer and told me that I had been approved for two additional conditions giving me a total of 70%. I know, I can't go to the bank until I get the official letter.
Yesterday afternoon, I called the 800 number. The lady there told me that I now was 70% and that the letter had been signed off the day before [Nov 5th]. Due to a computer glitch, she was unable to view the "letter screen". I know, I can't go to the bank until I get the official letter.
This morning, I checked the mypay web site and I have a new retiree RAS. Effective Dec 1, 2009 my VA Waiver changed from $601[40% w/spouse] to $178.26. In the message section of my new RAS it states "based on information received from the VA, your CDRP amount is $1,250.74"
$178.26 plus $1,250.74 equals $1,429.00 which is 70% w/spouse plus SMC K.
Now the question. How do I get the CDRP changed to CRSC? It doesn't take much to figure out that $1,429 nontaxable beats $1,429 taxable. Do I have to wait until the next open enrollment period? As soon as I get the official letter, I intend to submit a new CRSC Application. I sure would like to get this straightened out before I get a big retro taxable CDRP payment.
