I recently recieved a 10% rating for hearing loss. At the time of the c and p the audiologist told me I was bascially deaf in my left ear. During the word recognition I got 4 out of 100 words correct. When I recieved the rating letter it said that they found the left ear to be service connected and the right not I was also given 10% for tinnitus. What I don't understand is that they think that my right ear is not service connected. I cannot believe that both ears were not affected by the same thing. I was not given a hearing test when I got out of service although my records indicated that I did. When I was getting out, that day is etched in my memory the girl that was supposed to test me didn't want to be bothered she kept asking me why I didn't hear the tones I told her I couldn't hear and she just gave up and must have just wrote down what she wanted to get it over. I was young at the time and didn't press her,my fault. I want to appeal this decision but don't know exactly what I should do. I would appreciate any help out there. All I know is that the audiologist opined that the right ear wasn't connected to my service how can they say that?
