They aren't trying to take your IU away. Most likely they are asking the doc to comment on how likely the current severity of your condition is to continue into the future. IU is not even the issue being considered.

How can they do this? I have been seen at the VA each month for this entire time. I submitted my writen statement as well as the statement for my DR as to my condition. He stated he believes my PTSD should fall between 30%-50%. Is this a stall tactic by the VA?

I am 100% PTSD PT and I am going to give you some great advice! The Vet centers are a great start, but you have to go to the VA Mental health Clinic also,( it is a walk in) and tell them about your PTSD also, they will prescribe meds to help you feel better. They will not make you feel better, There is no such a thing as a PTSD only drug, and there is no cure for PTSD. Only learning how to deal with it.They experiment with you for several months, they record there visits about you as well as the Vet Center does, in between these visits gather all the evidence you can about your PTSD,on the VA web site there is the list of questions they will ask you. I suggest you provide as many letters and also your copy of your Vet Center assesment. Also bring copies of all your evidence you provided VA for the original claim. The big VA has a habit of losing your evidence. The #1 factor in your claim will be the assesment of the C and P examiner and he or she will really rely on the mental health clinics statement, plus you have to open up during your exam,do not just answer there questions.Tell them the complete story,no matter how embarassing it may be,complete details on how the PTSD affects your every day life. There are a few C and P examiners who do not beleive in PTSD,but if you overwhelm them with evidence the VA rater will be fair to you. Again it is all in the evidence you give to them, it is all up to you ! (if you have a C.I. B.) like me it really helps. Do not be in a hurry for your C and P exam. It will give you more time for new evidence. They will pay you from your original claim date. Good Luck! Bob
