I was hoping someone could explain something: My request for increase has been at the RO for 6-7 months now. I called the 800 number, put in my file number to get my benefits info and the recording tells me that "we cannot access your file, please hold on for a benefits counselor". I didn't go any further. It is the same message for about two weeks now. How long does it take for my file to be updated so that it is in the automated phone system? Do they lock out my file for months until they come to a decision? Does this mean there will be a decision rather soon? or still indefinitely?
