Neuropathy In Feet...does Gabapentin work? |

Hi,
My toes ache all the time, bottom of my are partially numb. Did Gabapentin help with the pain? How long did you take it before it worked? Thanks! Vet10 |

i take GABAPENTIN 400MG 3x a day for

I take Gabapentin 300 MG 3X a day for Diabetic Neuropathy. If I forget my Evening meds and
go to bed it does not take long for me to realize my mistake because the feet start burning and tingling. Plus it helps me sleep a few hours longer each night. It does work at least for me. Red Eye |

I take gabapentin 3 times a day for hands and feet dose not help any all it dose for me was cause me to take a few steps and then take off runing but that is
only me told dr but did not do any good sach out

I take Gabapentin 300m x 2 pills x 3 times a day for a total of 1800mg a day.
I have been taking it for about 5 years now give or take, and if I miss a dose, I know it for sure. Even when I take all my pain meds, if I miss the Gabapentin, I know it. I take morphine, vicoden, ibuprophen, and tramadol for pain, and they do not touch the neuropathy pain. |

You can buy Alpha Lipoic Acid at Wal Mart over the counter. 120, 200 mg caps., cost about $8.

Regarding the use of ALA, the info given me today by the pharmacist at Wal-Mart indicates a possible result of using ALA is hypoglycemia. Has anyone found this
to be correct while using ALA? I check my blood sugars regularly and I know the symptoms of hypoglycemia so that is not a problem. Just wondering about others
having any side effects of the product.
It appears from his info that I would take about 600 mg per day. Any thoughts about this? Ed |

I have been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for more than 5 years. It has never induced hypoglycemia in me. I also take 600 mg per day and I take it in the morning
all at once. I'm wondering if that is the right way to take it?

I am going to my pcp on the 21st and plan on asking for something else, I have been on 800mg ibuprofen for over a year and my outside podiatrist put me on
Lycria about month and half ago and still no real relieve. I have to find something the pain and burning is driving me bonkers.

As staed ask your pcp abt Gabapentin - neeles and pins gone pain NO - the max I take is also 800 ibu's
pain is here but the rest can be helped

Just started taking Gabapentin and Metanx, It seems to be working for me. My feet burned and needle sticking for years until I
finally had to ge some help. VA has only got me down for left side PN now I will try to update to include right side also. Am now at 70%
