Hello,
I'm CONFUSED nothing New! I called GWS 1-800 number this AM spoke with a woman who explained the process as such:
After I retire the raters will review my medical records along with my VA C/P exams and then with that finding decide if I meet any of the criteria for compensation related to the GW.
This is what I don't understand: I retire Jan09, I have had my C/P exams completed and my paperwork submissions were sent to the VA 18Jul08. WHY would I...

I have chest pain and have been having them for many years. Nuclear Stress Test came back positive, so I had others test, All test came back negative, echo stress test and Cardiac catheterization.

My question is, anyone have chest pain and do you know the cause of the pain? Could my chest pain fall under one of the following?

Cardiovascular signs or symptoms
Joint pain
Muscle pain

TBI claim denied

So, out of the 3 things my husband put in his claim...he was only awarded one of them. He has been diagnosed as having a traumatic brain injury due to a fall out of a guard tower. Granted, it is not severe, but it has caused him to have an unsteady gait, memory problems, etc....We are going to file a NOD on this one. My question is this, do we need to make another appointment with the TBI clinic and tell them what happened and see if we can have more put in his medical record or what? I...

The National Gulf War Resource Center is meeting in Washington DC Sep 13-16 to have meetings on GWI. The VA RAC will meet on the 15th &15th to release its' report on GWI..

Gulf Conflict Claim Clarrification

As an active duty member pending my general VA exam on Jul7. (Pending ENT,Psych, Opthomology) I have been told if I file a claim for Gulf War Syndrome/Illness it will take longer to receive my overall rating once I file my 2214. It was explained to me that GWS/Illness/undiagnosed illness have to go to Nebraska for approval and I should wait until I receive my initial finding, then file GWS claims.
Anyone ever experience this. Knowledge or guidance would be appreciated.

Signs and Symptoms of a Brain Tumor

The post below re: # of GW vets w/ brain tumors inspired me to post this. A lot of people only know about the really dramatic, split-personality and limp limbs type symptoms that people report for brain tumors. But there are a LOT more symptoms, all of which don't amount to much when viewed apart from the others. However, if one has many of these seemingly unrelated symptoms, the overall picture points to something neurological.

I am currently on active duty since my deployment in Sept 05 and am on medical hold. I haven't yet filed a VA claim as I am still recieving medical care thru the Army. I found this site and find it amazing. So much information and such a great support system. Met with my new VSO for a 3rd claim. Unlike the others, this guy impresses me. After we talk about my case for a while, he asks, have you been treated for Fibromyalgia?
As many times I've been to doctors the last few years, not one has mentioned it. He wants me to ask my primary doc about it during my upcoming visit. Narcolepsy

I recently saw a study on Narcolepsy among Gulf War Vets. Although it had a relatively low sample size, it showed a high percentage of vets with Narcolepsy.

Just checking to see if any Gulf War Vets here suffer from Narcolepsy.

I know Fibromyalgia is covered under Gulf War Syndrome when rated by the VA. Is Myofascial Pain Syndrome also covered under GWS?

I have now been DX'd with both and am wondering if it is worth it to claim both if they are both rated under GWS. I mean, would one pyramid on the other and not make it worthwhile or can they both have different aspects that can be rated under the VA system.

I'm a gulf war vet and in 1995 started to get sick with eye problems and wheezing in my chest. In 2001 my eyes started to become very cloudy to see, and walking just 3 flights of stairs I could'nt breath. In 2003 and 2004 was the diagnosis of scardois and pars
Who else has this and what % did you get? will they pay back pay from when you where diagnosed?
