Hearing Date Set

My husband received a letter with his hearing date for August 12. One day before the letter arrived, he got a phone call from a lady at the adjucation and review dept., asking him when he was treated at the VA. He told her for yrs. and then had to tell her how to get his records. I hope they have them before the trial date. Anyway, he has never had any kind of exam from SS, like a mental exam or heart exam or anything. Is this normal? Do they sometimes make a decision without exams ordered...

Hello everyone. I would like to know just why I got to ask my lawyer if he/she had represented a veteran before? Is there any info I have to know about it before I let he/she represents me before an ALJ? My case was in the reconsideration stage so it could be a while before I go to ALJ (if my case was denied now), but never is too early to learn about this things. Is there any phone number that I can call to know about my case? and if so, does this didn't interfere with what my lawyer...

I appilied on line today for SSDI and SSI for the first time. I am at 100% SC but not P&T. I will be filing for P&T this week. I do not want to have to get a lawyer but if I have to I will. A friend of a friend works at the local SSA office and I've got an appointment with her next month. I hope that all goes well. I was just wondering if there is something I can do to speed the process along. Can anyone tell me yea or nay? Tex.

Wife and Medicare

My wife is 50 years old and receives ChampVA and has worked parttime for only the past three years paying into social security and medicare. Will she be eligible for medicare when 62 years old or will she stay on ChampVA for life? If she does not qualify for medicare will she be able to remain on ChampVA until the end? thanx Ken

I asked my VA psychiatrist to complete a 3 page Social Security form HA-1152-u3...."Medical source statement of ability to do work-related activities (mental.)" I'd like to know how much this will help with SS claim.

Among this I have other specialty DR diagnosis on other injuries stating my PTSD, wrist limition and how it affects me from obtaining work. Im working on the specialty DR to do the same for IBS, GERD, TBI, Vertigo, Menieres when/IF he...

Trying to find out if our fellow Vietnam vet is qualified for SSDI. Here is his background:

1971-1991 - Served in the Army.

1991-1997 - Served as a civilian warehouse technician.

1997 - Experienced severe back pain with shooting sensation to both legs whenever he heavy lifted materials; Was diagnosed with severe lumbar disorders (hemiated nucleus pulposis and spinal stenosis at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels).

For Those that used a Lawyer at ALJ

This is for those that actually had an ALJ hearing and used a Lawyer. I am already past the point of OTR and looking at an ALJ hearing in Oct.

What did your Lawyer do for you at the hearing? What kind of questions were asked and by who? Who answered them, you or the Lawyer?

Anyone want to take a stab at this one?

Ok, submitted for I/U through VA. Want to get that settled before SSDI. I dont know if that is good or not but that is the way I went. I like what cruiser usually advises so emailed him and asked him if he would take a look at my self report. I completed my self report much like the example self report but always feel two eyes and a allott of knowledge are the best way to go. This my first post on this forum. I am a retired Navy Diver, 21 yrs, medically retired in 89. The following is a list of my junk: Bad knees, bad back, bad neck, bad hip, diagnosed with remitting relapsing Multiple Sclerosis in 99. Got my 80% from VA in 05 upgraded to IU in March of 06. This my first shot at SSDI and I did all the god awful long application on line last month and had a 15 minute interview on the 1st of this month. The Lady told me that I would hear from them in about 90 days....

Bad/Good News - Jdave?

Got some bad/good news in the mail today. First the bad, my file was moved from Saint Louis to MT whom services Boise because I moved to Boise in May. My St Louis lawyer (henceforth known as SLUG) told me I could make the move and go back to St Louis for the hearing.

Today I got a letter from the SLUG telling me he has withdrawn because of my move. Called him on the phone and he said sorry, my bad, I was wrong.

Other good news, I called the MT office and they told me...
