Can someone answer this question. I served 21 years in the National Guard. Of that i had approx 24 months on active duty due to deployments. Soon after i returned from Iraq in 2007 I retired with an Honoralbe discharge. About 4 months later the VA granted Permenatly and totally disabled. And unemployable. Would i be eligable for the 100% benefits from the 9/11 GI Bill to pass on to my dependents do to my 100% P/T disabillity? Does anyone know? Thanks in advance

My daughter applied for Chap 35 DEA and recently received notice that the Buffalo VARO needs paperwork indicating I am P&T. They have a copy of the rating decision indicating the eligibility date for Chap 35 benefits.

Is this really needed or does someone have a misunderstanding as to what eligibility for DEA really implies?

voc rehab testing

ok, I took the series of tests for voc rehab this morning and my counselor said that she will fed-ex tham this afternoon.
she said that she will be sending me a letter next week. so my question is what sort of questions should I be asking? if any?

In Illinois if you go to school, you get paid to go under the VA. Does Oklahoma pay a Vet to go to school?

Overpayment due to VA not updating dependency status

I have two kids who have been approved for Chp 35. Both have received two checks. I notified the VA to remove them from dependency payment to me in September. I new I would be over payed on 1 October but figured they would make the adjustment prior to the 1 November payment. They didn't, I still received the dependent payment and am now $960 overpaid.

Called the 800 number and they said they have all the info they need to remove the payment but it just takes time to process...

I don't know what to do... go back to school or not to go...?

Please help. I've been reading this forum for about two weeks now trying to find if anyone similar to me, but I couldn't find anything. I'm new to this board. After my return from Iraq, I've been rated PTSD sc 80%, and got the 100% because of the UI for three years now and I got SSDI as well. I really like to try going back to school using my CH.35. Is it possible? Or if I do go back school, they will think that I am "normal" again and will be taking everything...

I broke my neck stayed in the Spinal Rehab Center Ft Gordon for 2 years 2 months.
I had a spinal fusion metal in my neck I was paralysed from the neck down but the injury brusied my cord mostly.
I was rate 40% in 1977 and never went back to the VA.
I have used my private doctor for the past 6years the pain is so bad now I can't.
I haven't worked since March, I can't load and haul cars.
My doctor wrote a letter saying I can't work, I applied for 2 jobs...

Voc Rehab Considered A Request for Compensation?

I'm 100% SC, P&T, PTSD Schedular. At the suggestion of my VA Psych, I submitted a request to the VARO for support in offsetting costs of my recently developed interest in photography. I received two letters in response: 1) a letter from the Voc Rehab guy giving me an appointment, and 2) a letter from the VA advising that my request for benefits has been delayed (?!).

The "request for benefits" I do not understand. Or is that just part of the process?

First I have qualified for both VOC Rehab and Post 911 GI Bill. How much total entitlement is there? I thought I once read no more than 48 months total, but can not find that on the site tonight. If that is true, after 12 months of VOC Rehab can I then start using my GI Bill?

Finally both kids in college, Now the wife wants to advance her
educational opportunities. She has been approved for Chapter 35
for 45 months through July 2013, can she take these classes on line.
If so what are the requirements for full-time, and we are from Illinois
it seems the UOP is the best one going with variety and on line classes
does anyone have experience with this situation.
