I went to the Winston Salem, NC office to be tested for Voc Rehab. When the counselor read my scores back, I was shocked. In every category I scored low to mid 20's. The couselor stated that I have up to 48 months of education I qualify for. He said my scores were too low for even community college. My Veteran's counselor said they probably would'nt send me to school. She also stated that with my not being able to stand, sit, lift among other things I would probably be rated...

I filed for Voc Rehab today...

The folks at the local office were friendly. I just got the results from the Army PEB and submitted a copy of my medical records with VA Form 28-1900 & 28-0588 to the VR&E office. I was told it should take 4-6 weeks until I receive a letter in the mail with the first appointment date. Thanks for all the good postings too. I've been lurking a while but finally registered!

Tutorial Assistance

I called the VA Educational assistance line today, they were not sure of the answer to my question.

Question; Under chapter 35 benefits can my high school freshman daughter be eligible for tutorial assistance? We have her enrolled now for tutotings at $42 hour. She has reading and vocabulary disabilites.

The VA person thought I should try to apply and send in documentation. I printed off the form online, it says that the "you must be training at one-half time or...

Trial Period

i am in a trial period for Voc-rehab schooling to see how I physically hold due to seizure disorder... What happens if this fails due to medications concentration problems and additional stress which is the big trigger on the seizures?

Initial Meeting

I successfully completed State and VA voc Rehab in 2005 for my SC disabilities - received a Bachelors of Science Degree. I was told at the time that I had no further entitlement left at VA voc Rehab, I was asked by my VSO to apply for Voc Rehab services again, as my condition is worse now then it was back then, and I have lost the ability to do the work that I was trained in.

I have a question...well a series.

I've applied for SSD through the support of many physicans and a lcsw that has known me for several years and knows that I've had difficulties holding down a job for any significant lengthof time.

I have a review for Federal Vocational Rehab on July 9th - I am hoping that they will accept me and allow me to persue classes in web desgins and internet security so that I can potentially do some indivudal contract work...

ILP for mental health

Someone is coming to my house tommorrow to do an ILP evaluation. I am service connected for mental health.

Any advice?

I live with my parents so the place is pretty clean and I get fed. My parents (if they happen to be home) know not to speak too highly of me and say I can do things that I can't. I have everything neccessary to live: internet, car, GPS for the car, food, cooking pots....

I filed for IU in 06. I was turn down. Filed a NOD in 06.
I was at 70%sc at that time. This last Saturday I rec.
letter from VARO now at 90%sc.
I have been on SSD from 2003 and not worked due to my
health.
I filled out the foum you VOC REHAB today and sent it in to the VAMC. If thay turn me down. I will send a copy to the VARO. Or maybe they can help in some

The New GI Bill is a wonderful thing, but as with any endeavor involving politicians, there's always a devil or two in the details.

First, I don't see anything in the final verbiage that retroactively pays back the first year expenses (BAH money) at the end of the phase-in, as previously included.
