Is there a secondary service connection for the boogie-woogie flu?

I was diagnosed by my dad back in the late 50's. He stated that I had the worst case he had ever seen.

Could my service the US Army have aggravated it?

In December I started a post which I did not finish so I will post it now.I am 100% T&P and have been since 1996.Other than what I am rated for...MDD & Panic Disorder.....I have condition called Essential Tremors.There is no cause and no cure other than deep brain stimulation which could cause bleeding in the brain and loss of voice.I started having these tremors when I was 25 or 26.I am aged 69 now and still have these tremors which rarely affect your legs but I am one that now has...

Hi, I have a VA appointment, several in fact and my first after retirement and it's about 3-4 hours away. I have 2 back to back days so will need to stay over. They said if there is a room available that is kept for those receiving treatment that isn't taken I could use that, otherwise I'm on my own. I would think they would pay for hotel/motel cost if you have to travel over a certain distance. Anyone know of this? Am I stuck with paying out of pocket? I'll be making...

I think the DAV does good stuff at the national level and lets be truthful here... while some may leave much to be desired, without DAV VSO's many many claims would NEVER have even gotten filed.(a rather huge amount I would bet)... so, personally I filed my own claims, but I'm not the majority.

I'm not a member, but hey I'm not down on the totally either.

Yesterday the wife went to her premary care DR.. and he told her that Champa VA was going to be taken over By BC & BS. Has any one heard this yet.

I read the following info from another veterans benefits website regarding extra monthly compensation for vets rated above 70% disability within 4 years of military retirement.
If retired Military and rated 70-100% within four years of a 20 or more year retirement: retiree receives, 70-80%= $100.00, 90%=$200, 100%=$300. This compensation is paid from the retiree's military service branch. I'm already receiving my CRDP from VA, but I'm not quite certain if I'm supposed...

The VA Office of Claims Fraud Investigation has finished the field tests of thier new "sniffer" hardware and OCR software recognition package.

It is titled Claims Reduction and Personnel Office Logistical Analysis.

It "reads" the paperwork forms associated with VA claims and detects rhetorical and chemical traces of fraudulent and deceptive modalities.

Ok, so Im 50% SC. I applied for an additional 10% (for my back) in June 06, since then Ive had hip replacement surgery which I applied for 100% temp disability in Jan 07 both are still pending. BTW Ive already had a C&P hearing for both. I was once told by my GA VA rep having two claims at once sometimes delays the entire process...

I'm a member of the DAV and don't receive any benefit except for the magazine every month and wonder if it's really worth it to join organizations like this? I live about 20 miles from the nearest DAV group so it's a pain to drive that distance and then return in the dark (I'm and insomniac). Thanks

A friend heard a rumor that smoking will soon be banned everywhere on the entire campus of VA clinics and hospitals, inside and outdoors. There was also a comment that all vets in the system would be required to quit smoking anywhere and any time, even at home. Evidence of smoking would be grounds for denying medical treatment.
