VA Waiver

I know nothing on the military side of things so sorry if this question has an obvious answer.

How much of the VA Compensation, is your military retirement? My husband signed a VA waiver waving his military retirement of $1040 to recieve $1837 from VA for 90% disability.

Does this mean he gets any of his retirement, or did he waive it all? Im not really sure how to word it exactly but hopefully someone gets my drift !

I'm about to turn 67 and am concerned about my forshortened lifespan. Could my military service have caused it? Can I file a claim for compensation?

My elbow is also connected to my eardrum. I have no risk factors for this condition and no one in my family has ever suffered from this dreded condition. Is it possible my military service caused this? Perhaps it was Ancient Orange.

Today, I get a phone call from a friend. (and I know it doesnt happen all the time) A 22 year old vet and a 19 year old wife - 2 children. Iraq, IED exposed and fire fight exposed. Gets home goes back to his job and then all hell breaks lose. Lives in podunk no where. Wife is falling apart the folks step in to help. The vet turns to the bottle. Gets arrested-wife stays by his side. Podunk reserve unit marks him awol for missing drill and discharges him. Job fires him. Gets comitted...

We all need to keep close to our heart. Not everyone that comes to us is a scammer. Some are mothers, sisters, daughters, fathers, uncles, friends and so on. We hit 5000 members Dec. 4, 07 and hit 7000 on Dec. 14. 08. That's 2000 new members in a year and 10 days. That would be an average of 5.33 new members per day.
