Anyone Had A Stem Cell Transplant Done By VA?

I await approval for a stem cell transplant done by VA for treatment of my multiple myeloma. It's my understanding that it would likely be done at their transplant center in Seattle. And, I see online that they also do transplants at San Antonio and Nashville so maybe those locations are a possibility.

Anyone had that treatment done by VA at any of these centers? If so, I'd like to hear how it went, accomodations for spouse, etc.

Dont wont to start an argument, and maybe this should be in the AO threads, but it concerns IU so I put it here.

Just supposing, the House and Senate pass those bills, granting bluewater navy and others, presumptives to AO.

I filed a claim, and was granted, a Non-Service Connected pension, back to the day I filed, in December 2003. I had a C&P, and was totaled to 80% unemployable and granted the NSCP. (but when I received the SSDI i had filed, the NSCP was stopped)...

When do I turn in my claims and do the exam prior to retirement?

Hello all,
I have basically two options and I'm looking for advice from everyone on which to do. Either file my claim and do my exam now (in Europe) or later on once I return to the states... I've had 9 different surgeries over my career and other issues so I want to get this right the first time.
My situation:
I'm currently still active duty Air Force here in Italy. I retire in 1 July 2010 and I will have approximately 4.5 months terminal...

We just moved to Benton City Washington (State). The closest VSO that I have found is with The American Legion. Has anyone had any kind of good help with these people? I am currently rated at 70%sc total 50% PTSD, 10% left ankle, 10% left knee and 10% right knee. I filed for an increase and listed numerous other illnesses that the VA never examined me for in the past. I hsve high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high trigs, osteoporosis, cervaglica, headaches and joint pain and arm...

Proton Beam Therapy-Loma Linda or other..

Have any of you had Proton Beam therapy at Loma Linda Hospital, Loma Linda, California for prostate cancer?

If so, any of you on Tricare for Life/Medicare...did Medicare pay for your treatment?

Also, I read on this forum that those of us who served in Vietnam (Republic of) also qualify for proton beam therapy under current VA regulations. Is this correct? And if so, can you provide a citation or reference.

Loma Linda VA is just down the block from Loma Linda...

I had my hearing on the 23 of last month. The judge bacially told my lawyer that I was in full favor, Does anyone know how long this thing takes. Of course I 'm not banking on anything. I 've already recieved my letter of approval. HOw long is the wait until I get my award letter? Thankd guys

Moving To SC - Property Tax

Okay, decided to move to SC now and wondering about the property tax down there. After reading the tax laws of SC, it states that "the letter we are provided from VA" that states we are 100% SC doesn't count. So how does it work? Is it worth moving to SC?

Automobile Allowance

I was approved for $11.000 automobile allowance sent form back with invoice from dealer.
Months later that I was granted SMC for loss use of left foot. Now I waiting on the rater to state that Im rated for Automobile allowance.
Somehow things were done out of of the orginal order. My question is can they come back and say I'm not qualifed for my allowance? I do have loss use of left foot?, and recieve SMC.

Nerve damage

If I had surgery at the VA and they created nerve damage involved with scar tissue, can I get rated for that. It doesn't have anything to do with a service injury, but it happend from the VA operating on me and possibly a mistake they made? Thanks for the help

I am fixing to have ACL reconstruction on my knee later this month, and I am 10%rated. Does anyone know if my rating will go up and if I heard right that I will be rated 100% for the first year. Any info would be greatly appreciated
